On live webcast are the country's top marine scientists that include Drs Angel Alcala, Edgardo Gomez, and Paciencia Milan on Monday, 26 January 2009 at the UP Marine Science Institute, Diliman, QC. This is part of "A Forum on Philippine Marine Science" organized by the UP MSI and the Pew Institute of Marine Conservation. This whole day event will be participated in by other UP constituent universities: UP Visayas (Miag-ao and Cebu campuses) and UP Mindanao.
According to MSI Director, Dr Maria Lourdes San Diego McGlone, "The Forum is envisaged as a passing of the torch during which the 'old guards' will share their younger generation their learning and insights, their greatest hope but also their worst fears about the future of marine science in the Philippines."
The DILC and the UPCC are providing technical support to this event.
